DIY Homemade Deoderant

I have been playing around creating recipes for a deodorant that really works and I think I finally nailed it! I am super excited to share this with you all and I just know you’re going to love it. In this deodorant you’ll find nourishing oils and butters for the skin, the baking soda deodorizes and can help balance pH levels, calendula is¬†antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral and is soothing to the skin, vitamin E is soothing as well and acts as a preservative for your deodorant, and lastly the essential oil is what will give your deodorant some scent and each oil has it’s own properties and benefits so feel free to experiment with a few different ones.

  • 3 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp. Shea butter
  • 3 tbsp. baking soda
  • 1-2 tbsp. arrow root (optional, I usually do 1 tbsp.)
  • 10-15 drops of Calendula tincture (optional)
  • 2-5 drops of Vitamin E (optional)
  • 10-15 drops of Sweet orange essential oil (or the oil of your choice)

In a double broiler melt down the coconut oil, and Shea butter. Add in the baking soda, arrow root, calendula tincture, vitamin E oil, and essential oil. Stir well. Place in a deodorant container or in a glass jar and let set for several hour or even overnight.

Let me know how you liked the recipe and don’t be afraid to get creative and add your own pizzazz to your deodorant.
