It’s always a good idea to work on having a strong immune system, especially during the fall and winter months. Your immune system can always use an extra boost for protection against the common cold and the flu. Here are some remedies to get you started. They are safe and effective for the body to begin calling on its own resources and strengthening itself naturally, which will offer more protection as opposed to taking synthetics that can actually weaken the immune system.
Diet: Eat lots of fresh vegetables and omit processed foods, sugar and salt from your diet. Think raw, whole and organic if possible.
Supplements: Garlic, vitamin C, bioflavonoids (take together) and Vitamin E.
Note: Bioflavonoids enhance the action of vitamin C and should be taken together. Many vitamin C supplements now contain bioflavonoids, but you can also buy them separately. One of the top bioflavonoids to buy on its own is Quercetin.
Teas: Green, Echinacea, Elderberry.
Mind and Body: Restful sleep 7-8 hours a night and, if needed, take naps during the day. Moderate exercise with cardio and stretching such as YOGA! Meditate (no stress, no worry). Relaxation time: make time for yourself! Read a book, take a walk, take a bath, or write out your thoughts in a journal. Do the things that bring you to a peaceful state.
Note: You don’t want to overdo exercise when building up your immune system. Exercise in excess will only cause the body stress and can actually lower your immunity.
